NEWS . . .
We sang live on the Late Show on BBC
Radio Lancashire and BBC Radio Manchester on Monday 7th March 2011. The show is hosted by John
Barnes.
There was a nice article in
the Worcester Standard newspaper on
March 4th. Slightly inaccurate, but nice!
The “Barba y Bigote” Tour of
mainland Europe in October, November and December 2010 was a great
success. The tour kicked off with a week in England that
included a collaborative performance of Gwyneth Herbert ’s 'Sea Songs' at Snape Maltings in
Suffolk (Friday 1st October 2010). There's a mention of us in the Gwyneth Herbert review of our
performance at Snape. Then Sam’s trusty van “Dordonate” accompanied us
around France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Holland, no
less!
There was a great article in
the Sheffield Star newspaper on
August 20th. We do love the Sheff, Christophe's home town!
We have been kindly featured on
the London Music Blog along with
our good friend Riona Hartman from Dublin.
Hooray! We were the Band of the
Month for August on Irish arts and culture blog Mutation. They organise the
amazing Trash Culture Review and are well worth looking into. Thanks
lads!
Harry Bird and the Rubber
Wellies made their debut on UK National radio when a track
from Long Way to be
Free was played on
the Mike Harding
Show in June on Radio 2. Mike said very nice things about the album and hopes to play
more tracks in the coming weeks...
May 2010 brought a collaboration
with Indiecater Records on their
alternative footballing album Fast Forward: The World Cup Goes
Indie. Harry contributed a solo track “Pesadilla No.7” and Christophe played
piano on Pearse McGloughlin’s 'Jongmyo Shrine'. You can find out more about this wee venture in
the Asides section and also buy the tracks (individually or as an album) in the
Shop.
We have been featured on the KadmusArts website that
promotes festivals around the world.
The Cork Evening Echo have written a
nice article about us.
