01-04-2013 - Bilbao
Well, we've survived another winter it seems! And there is much to look forward to in Wellyland with the coming of spring.....
On April 24th we kick off the Reekie Lynn Tour of the Atlantic Isles with a gig in London curated by Sam Lee's Nest Collective. From then on it's three months of hard (?) travelling in the Wellymobile till the end of July. Some very edited highlights include: action in the Sheff, a trip to Cuffern Manor in the wilds of Pembrokeshire, the return to Chapter One in Cavan (to assess the damage after the Fleadh!) and a gig in the library on Iona (ssssssshhhhh!). Ah, so many great places to visit...
Also, somewhere in the middle of the tour (May 23rd - 26th) we will be back in London to participate in Gwyneth Herbert's run of shows at Wilton's for the release of her new album The Sea Cabinet. You can get information (and tickets!) here.
And of course, we must not forget to mention HBATRW's own release: our very first vinyl. Yes, we have finally gone retro! It's a black 7 inch, loaded up with two new tracks - Kettle of Silver, after a local legend from the Glenisla in Angus, and The Golden Vanity, a trad number we picked up from the recordings of the Almanac Singers. For all you treasure seekers out there....
So, see you soon hopefully!
